Air Blast Freezer ( ABF ) is a common type of freezing, i.e. a refrigerated chamber filled with cooled air. The advantage is by utilizing convection flow, cold temperatures can be spread to the corners of the room efficiently, but the convective heat transfer coefficient of the air tends to be small so that freezing needs to be carried out for a longer time due to the low rate of heat transfer. The larger the room, the less heat can be transferred in a given unit of time. Weight loss from the product can also occur due to direct contact between the product and water which can lift the water content in food products, especially if temperature and humidity allow.
How Air Blast Freezer (ABF) Works
The cooling process uses a simple compressor machine by suppressing the occurrence of condensation which is transferred through the expansion valve before going to the evaporator room. The evaporator itself is part of the cooler which is able to evaporate the food ingredients to a low temperature. In it, the pressure of the refrigerant will be low pressure so that some high temperature or heat can be drained out.
This can happen when the refrigerant gas has been sucked in by the compressor while the condenser is only in charge of transferring heat to become cold dew which then becomes liquid refrigerant.
And the next task will be carried out by the compressor, namely lowering the temperature to change the form of frozen ice. Evaporating refrigerant gas or freezing in this way is great for preserving food because it won’t change the taste.
Cold storage is a room that will be specially designed with certain temperature conditions and will be used to store various kinds of products with the aim of maintaining their freshness. This cold storage will usually be built according to the building area on the site. Following the building area at the site will ensure that the cold storage to be built will definitely match the area of the building. Many of the consumers usually ask to come for a site survey with the aim of making sure everything is in accordance with the location.
How Cold Storage (CS) Works
First of all, before entering the following article, we will first discuss the meaning and differences of Refrigeration, Refrigerant, and Refrigerator. Refrigeration is a system that allows regulating the temperature until it reaches a temperature below the ambient temperature. The use of refrigeration is very well known in air conditioning systems in buildings, transportation, and preservation of food and beverage ingredients. Refrigerant is a liquid or coolant used in cooling and air conditioning systems. A refrigerator is a cooling device that functions as a tool to lower the temperature/temperature of the air and space (in general), this tool can also function to cool a tool (in particular) for example refrigerator, chiller, freezer, cold storage, and others.
